6 ways to introduce a neutral color palette into your life

As much as I love pink and pastel shades, my favorite color palette has to be a mix of neutrals. Soft beiges, off-whites, sand and earth-tones are timeless and versatile. Because the hues are so basic and neutral, they go with pretty much anything. And they give off a natural vibe, which is always a plus in my book.

Neutrals are on trend

Are you on team neutrals as well? You’re in luck then! Because neutrals are HOT right now! We see earthy tones and soft sand colors pop up in stores everywhere. Wether you’re looking for a new wardrobe or a new interior, you can’t go wrong with a good neutral.

Add some neutrals to your lifestyle

Now let’s discuss how to integrate a neutral color palette into your lifestyle.

1. Neutral clothes

Ah, fashion. The best way for a person to express themselves. I am a huge fashionista myself. Well.. I try. And my neutral section in my beloved walk-in closet has been growing steadily the past few months.

The great thing about introducing a color palette into your wardrobe is the fact that everything goes together. Neutrals will rarely ever clash, so even though you might only own a few clothes, you can create multiple different and unique outfits by combining different pieces!

And right there is a good excuse to clean out your wardrobe, donate or sell a bunch of stuff and try to live a more minimalistic and sustainable lifestyle!

2. Neutral shoes

Shoes! Fashion-wise it’s the cherry on top.. or on the bottom, rather. The perfect shoe doesn’t just complete your outfit. It can make or break your look! So especially in this department, you can’t go wrong with a couple of good neutrals that look good with practically everything!

Even though I am a lover of all things feminine, such as an elegant heel or boot. I will always be a dedicated sneaker-wearer. Can’t say no to comfort, can I? Well, luckily brands such as Via Vai and Gabor have introduced a huge collection of neutral colored sneakers. So I can enjoy comfort AND my favorite color palette at the same time.. Win.

And if you’re really edgy and up for a statement piece – try sand-colored thigh high boot. I am literally OBSESSED with these beauties and I can’t wait to pair them with a white short dress and a straw hat this spring!

3. Neutral gym fashion

Can’t find the motivation to go to the gym? Try rocking a cute gym outfit. Trust me, it works! I’ve been going 4 to 5 times a week for the past year, ever since I invested in cute gym fashion. And guess what? I’ve got some neutral pieces! Nude leggings with a sand-colored crop top? Heck yes! Let’s squat!

4. Neutral interior

As a self-proclaimed homebody, I like nothing better than to be at home and relax. Needless to say I’m into home decor. Why else would I enjoy the surroundings of my house so much? Much like my wardrobe, my home has also been going through a transformation the past few months. Luckily we already had a pretty neutral base (light wood floor boards and white walls), so just by adding a few neutral colored pieces here and there I managed to stretch my favorite color palette our to my interior as well. Man, I love being at home!

5. Neutral office space

And as a girl boss, boss babe, femtrepeneur (or whatever you want to call it, really..) I also styled my home office to be a bit more neutral friendly. I exchanged my pinks and my rose golds for off-whites and beiges. It’s a good change! I think it will last a while, because I genuinely feel happy about it! You should try it too!

6. Neutral backyard

And if you haven’t had enough of all these neutrals after following all these steps, there’s also the backyard. Or the balcony. Whatever outdoors area you have access to! Throw some beige pillows on your outdoor sofa, put your potted plants in neutral pots and plant some pampas grass in the area.
