Is it one of those days? Do you have to confront that ever-recurring battle in front of your wardrobe again? So many clothes, but nothing to wear! It’s quite tragic, isn’t it?
Let’s tackle this for once and for all! I’ll show you what to wear when you don’t know what to wear.
What should I wear if I have no good clothes?
So the problem isn’t actually that you don’t have any good clothes. On the contrary – you bought these clothes for a reason after all.
The problem is that in these moments of fashion emergency you tend to have a creative block of sorts. Like you’re having tunnel vision.
You stare at your clothes and everything seems boring or just plain ughh. You fail to see the possibilities that all these pieces offer, so you overlook them and dramatically exclaim that you don’t have anything to wear.
Calm down, miss thing! :) You have plenty of cute outfits right in front of you!
Let’s look at some basic options first.
1. How to wear jeans in different ways
I’m pretty sure everyone has at least one pair of basic jeans in their wardrobe. It might seem boring to reach for them, but don’t forget that you can change the look of your plain jeans to look more fun and put together!
My favorite way of spicing up my jeans is by folding the bottom of the legs a couple of times to make it shorter and more interesting. You can play around with the width of the fold – the bigger and slouchier, the more casual it looks. I personally LOVE this trick on mom jeans or boyfriend jeans!
Adding a belt is also a neat way to upgrade your jeans. It’s so simple, yet we somehow overlook it too often. Especially when it’s a wide statement belt with a chunky belt buckle, it really changes the overall look.

2. The endless possibilities of styling a t-shirt
T-shirts are one of my favorite pieces of clothing, because they are SO versatile!
You can choose to tuck them in all the way or just partly, especially a front tuck or an asymmetrical side tuck gives you the perfect casual slouch.
When the t-shirt is a bit loose or oversized it’s also adorable to tuck the bottom of the shirt into your bra, so it creates an oversized cropped effect.
My personal favorite is a front tie or knot. This works best on oversized t-shirts. Gather the fabric in the bottom front and tie it (or use an elastic band). You can leave the tie hanging or you can tuck it inside to hide it. Another option is a knot on the side!
If your t-shirt has sleeves with lots of room, it’s also a cute look to fold or roll them up a bit. It adds dimension to the most basic piece of clothing!
3. Spice up your plain blazer
I love a good blazer, especially an oversized one.
Adding a blazer works with basically any outfit. So even if you opt for a simple jeans and t-shirts (with or without applying the previously mentioned tricks) – just add a blazer and it’ll look more smart and put together.
I really like throwing a blazer on top of a summery outfit like a cute dress or shorts. Something about the bare legs in combination with a long blazer just hits different!
And my favorite blazer tip – push or roll up the sleeves to your elbow. Instant cute look!
4. Dress up your gym wear
Whether I’m in the gym or not, I adore a good co-ord gym set. An outfit that combines yoga leggings or biker shorts with a matching crop top or sports bra is always a good look in my opinion!
Turn it into a more casual outfit by tying a jacket, flannel or a hoodie around your waist. Want something more unique? Tie it over one shoulder, like a crossbody bag.
Again, a blazer will do the trick too. One of my favorite summer outfits is off-white biker shorts and a matching sports bra with a linen cream/beige oversized blazer on top. Add a few accessories and chunky sneakers and you’ve got a look!

5. Oversized tops 101
Anything that’s oversized comes with endless possibilities! We already talked about how you can style an oversized t-shirt in multiple cute ways, but you can so the same with a chunky knit sweater.
Especially tucking the bottom of an oversized sweater under the waistband of your bra creates a whole different look.
And peep that oversized shirt on a hanger in your closet? Go for it! Button it up halfway to reveal a cute lace body underneath, or tuck one side into your pants for that casual slouchy effect!
6. Layer EVERYTHING
Playing with layers it what will make your outfit unique and interesting. Combine textures, shades, prints and different shapes.
Add shirts with collars under a top. Throw a trench coat or a bodywarmer over a longsleeve. Wear a dress on top of a turtleneck. Add a denim jacket to your summer dress. Wear an unbuttoned shirt over your short playsuit. Don a chunky knit cardigan on top of your crop top.
The possibilities really are endless!
7. Accessorize, baby!
Last but not least. Put all your accessories into action! Add a crossbody bag, stack multiple layers of jewelry, wear a hat, rock cute shoes, play around with belts and top it off with your favorite sunnies.
Now have another look at your wardrobe and try to see the possibilities that all your clothes offer. Try these tips and create a whole new look with the same old pieces!
